Why “The Scream” is Infinitely Underpriced

Yes. I am back.

The truth we all wish to avoid..

Have recently had to re-evaluate my code of non-ethics, and will maintain Machiavellian disposition for now.

But that is a topic for another, more “Deepak Chopra” themed post.

———–

Now let’s turn our attention to the exquisitely grotesque  “The Scream”  by Munch.

Ahhhh… I would raze a country every morning just to have it…

When I look at it, it reminds me of the amazing amount of resolve, or lack of intelligence to bear with it all.

The violent energies, the way the screamer realizes that he is part of this chaos, but is damned to be part of the flow.

How the realization is pointless. As it changes nothing, only adding torment to a previously bliss-free life.

Good Times! – *No Sarcasm*

People generally love it or hate it.

I love it with a dash of hate.

Judging by how it affects you - *ART SHOULD CREATE EMOTION* – I can quite easily sum you up.

But how?

As a marketer, I rely on stereotypes and trends to survive.

My people

If the exception were the rule, I wouldn’t be able to play on the emotionally needy mass consumer.

This could be you

Anyone who loves “The Scream” must identify with the sheer panic embodied in the work.

At some point in their lives, they must have felt that sheer chaotic pull of nature, as Munch intended to  describe.

As such, I find people who enjoy the piece, to be people I can discuss religion, politics and sex around…

—-

People who look at it and see a mess of color and an ugly alien…

 I cannot stand them!

Such are the cretins who divert the questions that pierce the soul, opting instead for the rugby match or small talk.

Simply put.

“The Scream”  is priceless because it allows me to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Pop culture has created some pretenders, who claim to enjoy its disturbing beauty.

To remove this demographic, simply ask their opinion on a recent socio-political event, and whether its impact will be short or long term, and “will its victims ever recover?”

—-

“The Scream” is much more than a painting.

It is the soul of Van Gogh.

The face of the Elephant Man.

The voice of Elliot Smith.

And so much more…

Just look around you and

THINK FOR YOURSELF!

In the same way, when I look at the industry I am involved in, I can almost get a taste of the depictions agony.

I could bend and scrape knee, dance a happy jig and be content…

So why don’t I? I just.Cant.

The closest concept I can place this amazing piece of genius deliciousness artwork to – Is the Buddhist teaching of Saṃsāra

It’s worth the click.

Anyways.

If you didn’t enjoy the post, perhaps I can make up with some artwork that you will surely find pleasing…

Soon to be placed on a wall near you…

Fin
